Quinn was born in Seattle, Washington in 1950. He grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1972, with a B.S. in Business Administration.
His first job was as Marketing Manager for Van de Kamp's Dutch Bakery near Los Angeles, California ... which was then the largest retail bakery in the world. Ross was responsible for a $3,000,000 annual advertising budget, and also managed 600 salespeople working in over 1,100 supermarkets throughout California.
In 1979, he moved from Los Angeles to Chicago to join with his parents, James and Janet Quinn, in their personal growth company ... LifeStream. During the next 25 years as a facilitator of the Basic and Advanced courses, Ross formed the foundation for his revolutionary approach to leadership development and relationship effectiveness.

Currently Ross is completing his new book, SPEAKING OF SUCCESS, with Co-Authors, Ken Blanchard (The One Minute Manager), Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for The Soul) and Stephen R. Covey (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People).
His primary messages are that ‘balance’ is the key to the creation of successful personal and professional relationships … and that true leadership is the automatic result of the ability to overcome our own negative reactions to threatening circumstances.
His "GET OVER YOURSELF" seminar has been presented to dozens of businesses and organizations worldwide. In this workshop, participants learn how to increase their personal and professional effectiveness by overcoming their own negative reactions to difficult circumstances and people. His clients have included Walt Disney Feature Animation and the Nightingale-Conant Corporation.
Quinn has inspired participants from around the world to make greater contributions WITH their lives for over three decades. His "Global Impact" outdoor Leadership Retreat utilizes high ropes 'confidence' courses, studies of Mother Teresa and Buckminster Fuller, as well as indoor and outdoor group activities designed to assist people desiring to increase their leadership skills.
Along with his wife Christine, Ross developed the Conscious Couples Workshop. It is designed on the premise that troubled couples should not "work" on their relationship. Healing will come from putting FUN back into the relationship.
